Last Email!! August 1st, 2016

Well since this is my last Monday and I haven't sent out a big email in a long time, I figured that I really should send one out one last time! I definitely don't have any where close to the right words to describe my experience but I hope I can sum some things up the best way possible!

My mission has been an incredible experience. It has been SUCH A RIDE!!! I have learned so much and my life has been completely changed and enhanced because of my time here in Southern California.

I had the opportunity yesterday to speak in the Mission Viejo 5th ward (even though I got moved to San Juan for my last week) and I will never, ever forget the experience while I was standing at the pulpit. I looked out at all the faces of those I had been with for a little over half of my mission and a flood of memories that I've had with each of them came rushing into my head. It was like I was looking at a yearbook or a slideshow that somebody makes at the end of a camp or something. With each face I looked at I could remember at least one memory with them that blessed my life. That to me is one of the most beautiful parts of the Gospel, how it unites our immediate families and how it unites us all as children of our Heavenly Father!
I've seen how applying the Gospel in our lived makes us happier! I have seen changes in my own life and in the lives of others!!! And I'm so blessed to have been here to just witness it all! That's how I felt when I was giving my talk on Sunday, like I didn't really have anything to offer them but that I was just happy to be there and get to witness their lives change because of Christ!

I know without any doubt that the true, restored gospel is what brings us true happiness in our lives! Because I feel it right now! Christ has provided us with the way to be happy in this life and to live with our families and be happy forever in the life to come.

This has become one of my favorite scriptures on my mission:

"40 Behold, ye are little children and ye cannot bear all things now; ye must grow in grace and in the knowledge of the truth.
41 Fear not, little children, for you are mine, and I have overcome the world, and you are of them that my Father hath given me;
42 And none of them that my Father hath given me shall be lost.
43 And the Father and I are one. I am in the Father and the Father in me; and inasmuch as ye have received me, ye are in me and I in you.
44 Wherefore, I am in your midst, and I am the good shepherd, and the stone of Israel. He that buildeth upon this rock shall never fall."

Because I know that no matter what happens in life, we will never fall if we keep our foundation in Christ. That's why keeping the commandments and our covenants is so important because that is how we stay close to our Shepherd and how we seek and recognize His guidance in our lives!

I am so grateful for all my companions who have done so much for me and taught me so much! I have a testimony that people are places in our lives to give us the things we need and to teach us the lessons we need to grow and they have done that for me. I now have some of the best friends I think I'll even have in my life.
I'm so grateful for my family who has supported me through my whole mission and who continue to be the biggest blessings in my life! I could not have done it without their support, prayers, faith and love! I'm so grateful for the blessings of the restored priesthood authority and temples that allow us to be together for all eternity!

I learned that it's important to smile and that it's important to laugh and to enjoy every moment, no matter where I am!! Because if I'm striving to be the best disciple of Christ that I can, God has a plan for me and if I accept it, I'm happier and more firmly placed on the rock that He is!

This email was super all over the place but it's so hard to bottle all of the things I've experienced in one place! I hope you all know how much I love you and how grateful I am for all of you!

Christ's church has been restored, Christ lives and loves us, He has blessed us with so many restored truths that allow us to be eternally happy, and His Atonement is SO infinite, it can erase all mistakes, heal all wounds, and bring all of us imperfect people back to the presence of Our perfect Heavenly Father, if we let Him, and if we love Him.

Nos vemos pronto!!

Buenas tardes!!!!!
I'm soooo sorry I've been so bad about writing a group email!! They've really cracked down on emailing time but I've decided I'm going to just work my little fingers and type super fast!! These group emails might be super short and just consist of pictures but I know they're important, so I can do it!!!
Well I'm now in the San Juan ward and our area consists of San Clemente, Dana Point, and San Juan Capistrano! We're covering the whole ward!!! So crazy!!! I love it down here though!!! I'm sending a picture of the view from our apartment!!! I'm roommates with my roommate I was with in the beginning of my mission, Sister Weston, and her and I get up early every morning and run all the way down Del Mar and to the end of the pier here! (all my native Californians probably have a visual of how incredibly far that is and it is definitely really far and uphill on the way back and I nearly die every time but I feel good about it! hahaha)
We have lots of people to teach! About 17ish investigators but only a couple have been responding lately and I've only met a couple since I've been here. But we're working super super hard to get in with them!! The ward works a little differently down here too and the relationships between ward members and us missionaries is something Hna Warner and I have been working on and have set lots of goals for. We chose 3 members last week that we wanted to focus on growing a relationship with (the bishop, the relief society pres, and the young womens pres) and we got dinner with the first two and had really really great conversations with both of them (who happen to be in-laws hahaha) and we've really seen how the Lord has provided us with the opportunity to strengthen the member-missionary work down here!!!
Hna Warner (my companion, I was companions with her when she was a greenie, i.e. I was her trainer but she didn't really even need training so not really! hahaha) has been super sick. I went on an sister training leader exchange out of the area on Saturday and I got a text from my poor companion saying she was going to go to the doctor because she's been coughing and been super exsausted and miserable. So she went and found out she had a sinus infection that was turning into bronchitis! " Aint nobody got time fo that!" haha But on a serious note, she had to stay home all Sunday so I got lots and lots of study time! I got to work on the Book of Mormon I'm marking up for the nephews! I also realized that Enos is my Book of Mormon hero!!! HE'S SOOOO AMAZING!!! So anyways we stayed home but the elders kindly gave hna Warner a blessing and then later brought us food from this member picnic thing we couldn't go to! It was amazing because we saw miracles that came out of her being sick, we texted several members and in conversation they found out she was sick and we could totally feel the love they had for us and ALSO we had an investigator who went to the regional conference even though we weren't there!!! So although it was hard, the Lord was still working miracles in our lives!
Well my brain is super sporadic right now and I'm running out of time but next week's will be more concise!
Happy birthday to my nephew Trey!!!!!!!!!! He's such an amazing boy!!! Which has a lot to do with the amazing mom and dad and grandparents he has!!! It's weird that he's growing up so fast but it's exciting at the same time!!!!!

Well I love you all soooo much!!!! I hope you have an amazing week!!!!

Emilia's testimony she posted on facebook and showed us!!! She just hit her year mark of being a member and she has the STRONGEST testimony!! For those who don't speak-a-the- Spanish, here's what she said: " today I want to give thanks for all of the blessings in my life. but first, for the true gospel that I came to know. thank you to the people  who gave their hand, their love, in the most difficult moments. I love this gospel because I know it is the best that I have known. I know that the book of Mormon is true because God has revealed it to me. and it has been a blessing to me and to my family. I am grateful for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" My jaw dropped and I was soooo happy for her!! She's amazing!
